THEATRE TROUPE INFORMATION
The Darby Theatre Troupe is troupe number 5658 of the International Thespian Society. The directors are Ms. Griffith, Mr. Chute, and Mr. Kruder. Every other postion from cast and crew to leaders and officers is held by Darby students. There is always work to be done so get involved. Want to know how else to help, click on donations.

The theatre office is
located in Room #50, right next to the Experimental Theatre (The X). Someone is usually in the office and
available if you have any questions. The
phone number directly to the office is 921-7366. Feel free to call or leave a message at any
time.
Officers
Your troupe officers are Pete Bell, Sarne Brewster, Robbie Gabbert, and Megan
Melville. Theatre officers are
responsible for communication with the troupe, organization of activities, and
anything else that comes up. Officers are voted on by troupe members at the end of each school year.
International Thespian Society
Any person involved in a
production will be eligible to earn points towards membership in the
International Thespian Society (ITS).
ITS is an honorary society for high school theatre students. You must earn 10 points in order to be
inducted into the Society. A point is equal to 10 hours of work in some aspect of theatre.
The most points
anyone can earn for one show is five (5).
The directors may add or reduce points based on individual performance. If you are involved in a production that is
NOT part of the regular Darby
Theatre season (choir
concert, community theatre) then you need to log your hours to recieve points.
Honor Thespian
Our highest honor. Honor Thespians must earn at least 60 points, work in both
performance and technical areas, and display exemplary behavior
throughout his or her high school career. Honor Thespain is an internationally recognized award.
POSITIONS AVAILABLE FOR SHOWS
Assistant Director
A high level position
with lots of responsibility. We are
doing some new and challenging projects so we will rely on the AD to help us
out. The AD will assist in all aspects
from rehearsals to performances. The AD
will be responsible for scheduling, running rehearsals and communicating with
the technical staff.
Assistant Technical Director
A high level position
with lots of responsibility. The ATD helps plan crew calls, runs large parts of crew calls, helps choose running crew, and fills in any other needs to puot together the technical aspects of the show.
Stage Manager
Attends all rehearsals, records blocking, maintains prop list, cues
and assists directors in all aspects of the production. Usually two positions per show. One would be in the booth during the show
calling cues and the other stationed on stage managing all back stage activities. The stage manager must be responsible and
organized.
Crew
Builds the set, does all lighting
and sound design, props, costuming, special fx and anything else pertaining to the production. Running crew is chosen from the build crew. Individual crew positions are listed below.
Crew Leaders
Leaders are experienced members of crew who help to plan crew calls. During crew calls they manage a groups of crew members on various jobs. Sound
Design, run and manage sound for the
show. Includes setting up and running the sound board,
and setting up microphones. Works
closely with the Technical Director.
Lighting
Design, run and manage lighting
for the show. Includes programming and running the light board. Works closely with the Technical Director.
Props Manager
Responsible for gathering all
props for the show. Must work closely
with the stage managers and director to determine what props are needed. Sets up props for the show and makes sure
they are put away at the end of the night.
Costume & Makeup
Responsible for costumes for all actors.
Must work closely with the director.
May need to research time period to determine type of dress and hair
styles. Manages dressing rooms.
Public Relations
Responsible
for posters, programs and t-shirts.
House Manager Responsible for all front of
the house operations including, box office, ushers and concessions.
