Hannah Boyers- President
Hannah Boyers started her theatre journey in fourth grade when she was in a local community production of "James and the Giant Peach" where she played the role of "Ladybird". She continued with theatre throughout middle school. Her favorite show she has done so far was the first main stage show she was cast in at Hilliard Darby, "The Mousetrap" where she played the role of "Mrs. Boyle" who was a grumpy old lady who got murdered. Hannah is very thankful to have theatre in her life. It had allowed her to make some of her closest friends, and she thinks that it keeps her sane during the school year. She urges anyone who wants to try something new to try theatre. In her opinion theatre can be crazy, fun, awkward, even stressful at times, but at the end of the day, it is one of the best things she has ever done.

Elisa Buoni- Tech Vice President
Elisa Buoni started doing theatre while in elementary school having minor roles in church and school shows. Then at the beginning of freshman year made the switch to tech, she started off being a stagehand but soon found out she enjoyed running sound a lot more. She’s been doing tech ever since helping out with HAC shows too. A few of her favorite shows have been Hairspray, Guys and Dolls and Little Shop of Horrors. Aside from theatre Elisa enjoys watching romcoms, playing piano, watching Spongebob and of course hanging out with her theatre pals.

Joanie Shafer- Acting Vice President
Joanie Shafer began doing theatre in sixth grade at Hilliard Station when they did “The Little Mermaid Jr”. She played Andrina, one of Ariel's sisters (but her brother still likes to call her “fish #2”). Joanie then went on to do theatre at Hilliard Heritage where she loved playing Mrs.Potts in “Beauty and the Beast Jr.”(although her brother still calls her “fork #4”...see the pattern?). After middle school, She went on to the scary, wonderful world of high school where she joined her amazing theatre family. Some of Joanie’s favorite roles have been Miss. Casewell in Agatha Christie's “The Mousetrap”, Raja in “I Never saw Another Butterfly”, and Martha in “The Secret Garden”. Joanie also loves to help out behind the scenes as well, doing build and painting sets. Joanie's favorite part of theatre is the feeling of pure happiness when she steps onto the stage doing what she loves. Besides theatre, Joanie loves to jam out to show tunes in the car, watch The Golden Girls, hang out with friends, and play her ukulele.

Skylar has also participated in an x show and plans on doing more x shows this year. She says the atmosphere of theatre is great and is glad to have joined. She doesn't know what she would do if theatre wasn’t in her life. She also doesn’t know what she would do without the friends she has made because of theatre. By being in theatre one year of high school so far has given her a chance to be an honorary thespian and get over 20 thespian points. She plans on being in as many shows as she can and work hard to be a scholar thespian. Theatre is so fun and Skylar is so glad to have joined and became apart of this amazing family. She can't wait to continue her theatre journey all throughout her last three years of high school.

Abby James and Valarie Barrera- Historians

Despite never speaking a word on the main stage, or moving anything behind it, she’s always just kinda been there. She’s dabbled in some improv, a bit of directing, and some more improv. She’s acted in four one act plays, directed one (Game of Tiaras), and if you were really paying attention you might of seen her dancing badly in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. She is most proud of her impact on Darby’s improv troupe as an Improv Leader. Even though her resume isn’t as impressive as others she always brings her enthusiasm, hard work, and loyalty to Darby Theatre and is excited to spend her senior year as their historian.

*Val- Valerie started theatre her freshman year at her old school with “Romeo & Juliet” as “Juliet” and “Aida” as chorus member. Then came to Darby and started theatre with “12 Incompetent Jurors” Her favorite show(s) so far has been “Jabberwock” and “The Secret Garden”. Tada!
Emily Betteridge- Secretary
Emily Betteridge has always been somewhat of a theatre nerd. Ever since she was little she has enjoyed going to see plays and musicals. Emily has been acting ever since 6th grade and it’s something she can’t live without. Without theatre, Emily would not last through the school year. When not acting, Garrett can also be seen leading the Improv Troupe, as well as directing, writing, building, and stacking boxes on top of carts.

Emma’s introduction to theatre started when she took classes at Carriage Place Community Center and became one of Snow White’s Seven Dwarves at the age of 8. However, her musical interest began before that. When she was just 6 years old, Orphan Annie was her obsession. Since Emma was homeschooled, she didn’t end up continuing theatre until she came to Darby as a freshman and joined the musical, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, where she was a member of the chorus. Since joining Darby Theatre, Emma’s favorite roles have been Claire in The Secret Garden and Belle in Game of Tiaras. Hayden Cruz- Sophomore Representative
We Proudly present to you Hayden Cruz. Hayden has been in theatre for quite some time, Starting his whole journey at a young age in a Harry Potter acting class at The Columbus Children’s Theater and from then on he was Hooked! His first role was the Town Crier in a 7th grade production of “If the Shoe Fits”. After that he was in the musical “Fame Jr.” in 8th grade, Once Hayden got to high school he knew he was going to try for every show he could audition for. He got his chance to meet everyone in the theatre troupe who greeted him with kind words and open arms and be in every show of his freshman year! His favorite roles he has been given were Avery Arable in “Charlotte’s Web” as well as Felix in the X-theatre show “The Lost Light” but He makes sure to put non-stop hard work and dedication into each and every role along with his goofy, smiling, and bright personality. Hayden has also been in chorus groups since elementary school as well as been in many leadership opportunities, he still learns and grows with every mess up or mistake he has made and choses to pause step back and start again for a positive outcome. Hayden’s greatest achievements have been becoming a thespian and an officer in his freshman year, being apart of the sophomore class cabinet, receiving the Panther award in 8th grade and being able to work with all the incredible people in the theatre troupe. When he is not around the theater you can find him watching Netflix and Youtube, talking to Hannah on facetime, or in his bedroom dancing and singing with headphones on. Hayden hopes to continue acting and singing for as long as possible and promises to help and respect everyone in the troupe. He is eager to start this new school year and begin the productions! But he already has had so much fun being in the 4th of July parade and dancing to the music of “Young Frankenstein” and meeting up with the other officers during summer to get the theater ready for the year and going out for lunch after.
